Poker PR has uprooted from the offices in England to embark on one of the most forward thinking electronic music conferences of our time – the International Music Summit.

This is our second year at the conference founded by Ben Turner of Graphite Media and Radio 1’s Pete Tong among others. Our involvement this year is three fold. Let me explain.

Poker MD David Mitchell will speak on a panel this afternoon at 17:10-18:10 titled “Our Community is Our Brand” alongside heavyweight www.beatport.com and the innovative social music store www.mflow.com

Poker’s latest project ‘Burn Studios’ will be unveiled during the event from 11:10-11:40 on Thursday 27th May in a live press conference. We’ll be there to answer all your questions on this ground breaking new project.

And lastly, Poker’s sister company Scribble has built the iPhone App for the conference.  Anyone can download the app for free in the app store and gain access to live news feeds, program schedules, event info, plus music and video content and much more.

Poker PR is pleased to announce that our M.D., David Mitchell, will be a panellist on the ‘Our Community Is Our Brand’ panel at the rapidly approaching International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza. The panel will discuss digital communities, how and why they have changed their business and what the future holds.

David will be drawing from his many years of experience to voice his opinions on social networks, digital media, and all the other avenues that are currently available to create a community around a brand.

Also sitting on the panel are:

Callum Negus Fancey, 20 year old promoter of  Lets Go Crazy, the events are aimed at 14 to 16 year olds and continue to go from strength to strength.

Denzyl Feigelson, founder of Artists Without A Label, bridging the gap between independent artists/labels and digital stores such as iTunes.

Jonas Tempel, CEO of Beatport, the largest and most popular digital dance music store.

Konrad Von Loehneysen, MD at Ministry of Sound Recordings Germany, the German division of the ever popular brand.

Susie Lucas, Head of Mobile, UK, at Universal Music, delivering music and entertainment to mobile devices. TBC.

This is the first year David will be speaking at the IMS and we know that with his enthusiasm and experience it will not be the last.

The International Music Summit 2010 (IMS), which takes over the five-star Ibiza Gran Hotel on the 26-28 May, yesterday announced a new line up of speakers that include Sasha, Heidi (Radio 1), Cassius and Jesse Rose.

They’ll be joining an already star studied line-up including Mark Ronson who’ll be giving a keynote interview, Annie Mac, Erick Morillo, DJ Skream, Pedro Winter/ Busy P, Arthur Baker, Robin Millar, and internationally acclaimed producer David Guetta.

Sasha will host a Pioneer technical demo, explaining his decision to return to using their equipment after years of flying the flag for Ableton. It is said that he made the return to the equipment while his infamous ‘Maven’ controller was being upgraded. Poker PR saw Sasha using the new CDJ2000s at Matter and can confirm he is making the most of this new technology.

Google, T-Mobile, Sprite, Coca-Cola Group, Ministry of Sound, BBC Radio 1, KCRW, MP7, Beatport, and ResidentAdvisor are among some of the companies who will have representatives in attendance, some of whom will be sitting on the event panels. Panels this year include, Big Dog DJs: F*** You We’re Famous, USA Today: Boom Boom Now! and Meet the Future. There will also be a repeat of last year’s Ibiza United panel, featuring the big players in Ibiza clubbing, Amnesia, Eden, Es Paradis, Pacha, Privilege and Space.

Poker PR will make one part of the numerous music industry bodies in attendance for our second year running, and we have to say that the line-up of artists and speakers has us a little excited already.

GET TESTED! Logo (New Purple) jpeg (2)

Are you going to the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza? If so, how are you getting there? The Hepatitis C Trust has teamed up with the IMS 2010 and is running the first ever ‘GET TESTED! Mission.’ Want to get on board? The mission is to travel from London Bridge, UK to the summit in Ibiza. There is a catch though, this is a road trip, no planes allowed.

The Hepatitis C Trust is the only national UK charity devoted to hepatitis C. It runs a range of services that provide support, information, and representation for people with hepatitis C. It is also committed to raising awareness and lowering the stigma of this widespread disease amongst the general population.

There are many ways of contracting hepatitis C, however, the hedonistic environment and lifestyle associated with partying/clubbing and the music industry as a whole puts many people unwittingly at risk from contracting the disease.

Poker PR are looking forward to the IMS which has been created by six leading professionals (including Pete Tong) to help re-set the agenda for electronic music culture, at a time when the industry needs it most. Set at a special location in Ibiza, the IMS covers three intense days of business programming, networking and activity leading straight into the official opening weekend of the Ibiza season.

For further information on The Hepatitis C Trust and the ‘GET TESTED! Mission’ please visit www.hepctrust.org.uk or email admin@hepctrust.org.uk for an info pack.
