House Trained takes over from Mr Scruff at the venue, and comes to Manchester with a very special night. Not only will this event boast a line-up of hot house talent that includes Lee Mortimer, Sharooz, One Man & His Dog and Disco Stu Bear; it’a also a mighty celebration and a night dripping in nostalgia…
House Trained Recordings will use this opening night to mark the launch of ‘Hardcore Uproar 2009′ – a revival of one of the biggest acid house anthems of all time. This track was once the soundtrack to nights at the Hacienda of where the idea for this track was first born! It’s been revived, and scrubbed up for a re-release on the label. Manchester won’t know what’s hit it!
“As a fully fledged northerner myself, I have waited a long time for this opportunity” said House Trained’s Phil Loraine, “this night represents a tip of the hat to the old skool as we set our sights firmly on the future; using the memories of the past as a benchmark for creating equally unforgettable parties for the next generation!”

Slumdogs is the title of the latest release on Adapt Recordings, by label head, producer and DJ Jorgensen, and partner in crime, Danish Alex B.
Poker client Adapt, stands for all things emotive. Its output as a label is never pidgeon holed, but varied and eclectic. Slumdogs is a wonderful piece of techy house music, inspired by the award winning Slumdog Millionaire.
It’s got a strong remix package as Adapt searched for the best production teams around including Gabriel & Castellon and Fran Cosgrave & Ethan Project.
Already supported by the likes of Axwell, D.Ramirez and and Chuckie, Slumdogs is setting itself up to be a strong contender on many a dance floor. Keep an ear out for it at this year’s ADE where Adapt in its home country will be there strutting its stuff.

Following on from Joris Voorn’s masterful ‘Balance 014′ mix earlier this year, Will Saul takes the baton for the next leg, laying down 65 tracks over 3 discs. The Austrailian music label boss tip-toes through spangly disco and retro electro cuts to start, battles through minimal and dubstep beats on the middle disc, then pushes on through techno territory to finish.
Poker PR has been lucky enough to listen to this pre-release. The mix takes in not just current hits but unearthed gems and future classics, and it promises to be one which stays on your player longer than most, and once again affirms the Balance series as one of the best out there.
Released October 2009 from www.balance-series.com
