Pioneer unleash their new CDJ 2000 / 14th Oct '09

pioneer_cdj2000 Already leaders when it comes to digital DJing equipment, Pioneer have dealt another blow to the competition this month by releasing a brand new CDJ unit, despite their old version (the CDJ 1000) still being the industry standard.

It’s been 15 years since Pioneer released their first CD deck, but this latest incarnation allows play back from multiple sources (SD memory cards, CDs, DVDs, USB sticks). The new unit also comes with revolutionary music database management software for DJs: rekordbox^TM which means that DJs no longer even need to lug CD wallets around, let alone heavy record boxes!

Pioneer are aware that, in the current climate, even hardcore vinyl junkies are turning digital and one can only imagine that’s why they’ve added native control of popular programs like Traktor Pro/Serato/Ableton Live through one of the USB ports so you can literally turn up with a laptop, plug it in and the unit knows what’s going on: it allows you to control things direct and without the hassle of soundcards and cables. Where other manufactures seem keen on padding-out their unit with filler features, Pioneer are all about genuinely useful additions, and is why they remain ahead of the game.
